Roof top of Africa
Mount Kilimanjaro is a non-technical climb, but each route offers a very different mountain experience:
Marangu Route ("Hut Style")
Pros: You sleep in solid wooden cabins with bunk beds and mattresses. Great protection from cold rain and wind.
Cons: Rooms are shared and can be noisy. The trail goes up and down the same path, and the faster climb gives your body less time to adjust to high altitude.
Machame Route ("Camping Style")
Pros: Much better scenery and better acclimatization (you walk up high and sleep down low), leading to higher summit success.
Cons: You sleep in tents on the ground every night, which can be colder and less comfortable for some climbers.
Simple Verdict:
Pick Marangu if you want a bed and a roof over your head.
Pick Machame if you want the best views, better altitude adaptation, and don't mind tent camping.
Choosing Between a 6-Day or 7-Day Kilimanjaro Trek: Which is Right for You?

Mt. Kilimanjaro 6 Day Trek
The 6-day Marangu Route on Mount Kilimanjaro offers a classic trek with wooden huts, passing through camps like Mandara, Horombo, and Kibo. It provides less acclimatization time than the 7-day trek but still offers a good chance for summit success with proper preparation.
