  • Morning: Arrival & Nature Walk

    Hotel pickup and scenic transfer to Materuni Village, followed by a guided walk through the lush local scenery.

  • Afternoon: Traditional Chagga Lunch

    Savor an authentic, freshly prepared local lunch in the village.

  • Late Afternoon: The Coffee Experience

    Tour a working plantation to see how coffee is grown, dried, and roasted. Join locals in grinding beans with traditional songs and dances, then enjoy a freshly brewed cup of your own creation.

  • Evening: Cooking Class & Overnight

    Cook a traditional Chagga dinner alongside Mama Agnes. Enjoy your meal, unwind, and stay overnight at Materuni Homes Lodge.

Day 1: Materuni Cultural & Coffee Experience
Day 2: Materuni Waterfalls & Transfer to Nomad’s Rest Lodge
  • Stay: A Nomad’s Rest Lodge (Karatu)

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & Bottled Water

  • Drive Time: Approx. 4 to 4.5 hours (~220 km)

  • Morning: Village Walk & Waterfall Hike

    Take a guided morning walk through Materuni Village with a visit to a local school, followed by a scenic hike to the breathtaking Materuni Waterfalls.

  • Afternoon: Lunch & Road Transfer (Approx. 4–4.5 hours)

    Enjoy a traditional lunch before beginning your 4 to 4.5-hour scenic drive past Arusha toward Karatu, the gateway to Ngorongoro Crater.

  • Evening: Arrival & Dinner at Nomad’s Rest Lodge

    Arrive and check in at A Nomad’s Rest Lodge. Enjoy dinner, relax, and get a good night’s rest ahead of your crater safari tomorrow.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Safari & Return to Arusha
  • Meals: Breakfast, Picnic Lunch & Bottled Water

  • Drive Times:

    • Karatu to Crater Floor: Approx. 1–1.5 hours (~35 km)

    • Ngorongoro to Arusha: Approx. 3–3.5 hours (~150 km)

  • Early Morning: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive

    Depart early from Nomad’s Rest Lodge for a quick 30-minute drive to the conservation gate, then descend 600 meters onto the Crater floor. Spend the morning on a guided safari tracking lions, spotted hyenas, elephants, and the rare black rhino.

  • Midday: Scenic Picnic Lunch

    Pause for a scenic packed lunch near the famous hippo pool inside the caldera before ascending back to the crater rim.

  • Late Afternoon: Return Drive to Arusha

    Begin your comfortable 3 to 3.5-hour road transfer through the scenic Rift Valley highlands back to Arusha.

  • Evening: Arrival & Overnight in Arusha

    Arrive in Arusha town in the evening and check in at your hotel for a relaxing overnight stay.
